California Open (Cal Open), reestablished May 19, 2004 for the express purpose of organizing for a 2008 ballot measure, closed it doors on August 22, 2005. Due to lack of interest, the leadership of Cal Open decided that this was not the right time to organize. The official website and mailing lists are no longer available. If you would like more information on open records and adoptee rights in California, please visit www.adopteerights.org. The adopteerights.org discussion list is a meeting place for anyone who supports unconditional access to birth records for adults who were adopted (adult adoptees). The intention is to supplement, with a less formal climate and open membership, the organizations that are forming throughout the country/world working for open records. Once a new California open records organization is formed, information about it will be posted on this list. The background image for this web page was duplicated from the official Cal Open website. The intention is not to pretend this is an official Cal Open website, but rather to have a familiar look while directing those interested in open records in California to another website and mailing list until another California organization is formed. |
